Here is the new April/May issue of VIBE, and the feautured artist of the month are Trey Songz & Jeezy. This is year is starting off right for the both of them. Trey & Jeezy just recently ended their first biggest tour with Jay-Z in Las Vegas. Jeezy is preparing to release a new album and I hope Trey is working on a new album in between all his touring. Enjoy.
Trey Songz is taking it back to the 80s with his new photos taken for Complex Magaizine. He's look like a young Malcolm X to me. Mr. Blues Brother himself is also featured in the new issue of VIBE. More photos from the Complex shoot below...
Today's song of the day is a throwback by Ms. Erykah Badu entitled "Otherside of the Game". One word, CLASSIC!
Today Ms. Badu released her 6th album, The New Amerykah, PT. 2: Return Of Ankh which is a sequel to The New Amerykah Part One (4th World War), released in 2008.
Be sure to pick up a copy of her new album, it's just about the only real music we have left.
Alicia Keys just recently brought her Freedon Tour to Miami. She went to her Offical After Party in a Louie scarf, some what similar to the one that Swizz Beats has.
This is like the first show Swizz didn't make his guest appearance. Instead he was on the otherside of the U.S. in LA at the Kids Choice Awards.
It doesn't even matter if these guys have a hair cut or not! I prefer the low cut look, as long as it's not too low. I love my boyfriend in a low cut caesar!
The braids kind of did something for these guys. Allen Iverson should start growing his hair back though.
Whenever your in Beautiful Brooklyn, be sure NOT to stop at any of the stores listed on the left. If you want good food for cheap, Brooklyn is the place to be!
Dominos is supposed to have this new sauce with this new crust, but Tony's Pizzeria on DeKalb & Knickerbocker has had the same good tasting pizza for years!
If you have a taste for a fresh sandwich made to perfection, stop by Farmer & The Deli on Myrtle & Cleremont. They can make ANY sandwich in the WORLD for like $3-5. Except if you want Pork, go to Subway.
ALthough Brooklyn is not popular for fried chicken, Popeyes has the best fried chicken on the market right now. They even have that good ol' recession special for only $1.99. KFC's chicken is just plain ol NASTY!
I think everybody looks like another person. All my life I've been told "oh you know who you look like", but I know I just look like ME. Here are a few stars that I think look like one another. lol
Drake & Steven Seagal Rihanna & Prince Chris Brown & Young Jay-Z
Remember when MTV had an Unplugged concert for all the biggest artists, and it just stopped? Well, apparently VH1 is picking up where MTV left off. VH1 just kicked off their first Unplugged concert with Adam Lambert and guess who's up next... Mr. Trey Songz!
I'm still waiting to see if I got tickets for his Unplugged, but I know he is taping it on April 1st in New York, New York, New Yorkkkkkkk (Alicia Key's voice). Stay tuned for more details...
So every month or so I will recommend some great movies, new and old. This month's three are GoodFellas, Do The Right Thing, and Bullet. No explanation really needed just Watch & Enjoy!
Jay-Z just released a new documentary about the Blueprint 3 leading into the 'Answer the Call: 911' concert he put together in memory of the World Trade Center. It seems like just yesterday when I was warming up the car for my mother. She was getting ready to go to Jay's last concert, I was beyond jealous. When she got home and told me who all his special guests were, I definitely knew it should have been me there and not my moms.
Of course, like everyone else, I had my copy of "The Black Album" a little before it actually came out. So I was anxiously awaited for Fade to Black to hit the theaters. I went to see go it the Sunday of the week it came out. Every performance was crazy. Speaking of which, I need to go buy me a new copy of that documentary.
Once I got a little older I was able to start purchasing my own concert tickets. I think my first Jay-Z concert was The Best of Jay-Z World Tour. Although, R. Kelly dropped out of the tour early, Jay-Z brought enough friends to make up for his absence. Ever since then it's been history, I go to see Jay-Z in concert each time he is in either NY or NJ (Imma stop going to Jersey tho).
When I first heard Jay was giving a concert on September 11, I felt like I was the only person who knew about this show. I basically live on Livenation.com & Ticketmaster. Once everyone found out that he was giving a concert with tickets for only $50, people went nuts. I was only able to get 5 tickets altogether, but it was better than none. I'm sorry but it was nothing like being in that building on September 11, 2010. Even when I watch the concert at home on Fuse, it's still doesn't compare to being in the Garden.
I thought I was asking for too much when I said I wanted Alicia Keys to bring out Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Swizz Beats at the Garden. BOY did my predictions stand correct! I thought I was over doing it when I was hoping she brought Swizzy out, but she gave the crowd what they wanted. The expression on her face when he came out was PRICELESS. She looked exxxxtra hype! I guess she was pulling a Jay & Bey. Let me find out the new thing is to have your significant other perform at your show. lol
The crowd was in an uproar, once Beyonce stepped foot on stage! AND once Jay came out no one was sitting back down. BUT the whole time Alicia Keys was performing everyone was sitting down(CORNY). A.K. was rushing thru some of her biggest songs. Songs like "You Don't Know My Name", "Un-Thinkable",& "Diary" needs to be performed thoroughly. AND I'm soooooo OVER that Jermaine Paul dude!! He's WACK!
Robin Thicke did "A'IGHT"(no better word to describe him)and Melanie Fiona went IN on her song "It Kills Me".
Alicia Keys will be performing at Madison Square Garden tonight at 7:30. Now I've always loved Alicia Keys and have gone to a couple of her shows. After she started dating Swizzy, she kinda lost me. BUT once I saw her in concert, after she started dating Swizzy, I became a fan again. IDK what Swizzy is doing to her but you can tell he is doing something right! Most of the love songs she performed, she looked as if she knew exactly how it felt, and meant every word she sang.
Don't worry I'll tell everyone how the show turns out!
Happy St. Patty's Day!! I know this is the day to get exxxxxtra wasted, but if you're like me, you celebrate with the other kind of clover! IDK maybe you like the holiday branded clothing, like I do. These Bo-Jackson's are soooo dope, I'm still gonna get him a pair!
I know I'm kinda wrong for supporting these two, but hey if their happy, I'm happy! Plus they are adorable, they need to make more public appearances together. This was a red carpet event for Gotham magazine.
I guess Swizzy is a 'Ruff Ryder' in Alicia's 'Diary'
When I first heard that Jay-Z was going on tour, I made sure I copped my tix ASAP which was last November. The only details released about the tour was that Jeezy was going to be opening for Jay. The ONLY 2 venues available for sale were the Izod Center in NJ and Nassau Coliseum in LI. So I purchased my tix ASAP, I really wanted to see him at the Garden but I couldn't take my chances on waiting for him to release a show date for MSG.
A couple of months pass by and what do you know?? There is a show scheduled at the Garden for March 2, but now including my favorite Trey Songz. The only problem was that I already bought my tix for March 6. I thought about buy another set of tix for the Garden but then I thought I would be over doing it!... I should have bought them!!
The show I went to at the Izod was WEIRD!! The whole energy was off. I felt like I was apart of a weird audience! Now I've been to a million & 1 Jay concerts and no matter where he performs, he shuts it down. Idk if it was Jeezy's set or if it was the songs Jay was performing, I just wasn't feeling it.
He performed too many songs off of BP3, & I understand this is the BP3 Tour, but none of those songs on the album were great performance songs. He still managed to do a GOOD show, but I've seen better. For instance, the 9/11 show at the Garden. Although Jay has a weird fan base, that concert was waaaaaaaaaaaay better than this BP3 tour.
